wildlife learning center zoology winter camp

Hello Friends of Wildlife Learning Center,

KodiOur beloved Kodi, the Canadian lynx, had an emergency surgery Monday night to remove a mass that was obstructing his stomach and colon. Without the operation, he would have succumbed to his condition in a day or two at a very early age. Kodi came to WLC as a kitten about 6 years ago, as the zoo he was born in did not have the proper resources to care for him.

Wildlife Learning Center (WLC) prides itself most in the quality of care and enrichment it gives to it's resident wildlife. Our biologists reacted immediately at the onset of symptoms and called on a highly qualified veterinary hospital to perform the surgery. While today, Kodi is back at WLC and his prognosis is good, WLC is left with a $1,788 bill and the post-operative care.

Wildlife Learning Center is looking for people to help with Kodi's veterinary bill, which is attached. A donation as little as $25 can pay for his antibiotics. A donation of $100 can pay for his sedation.

A generous donation of $500 or more will be eligible for a behind the scenes tour that isn't offered anywhere through our regular programming. You and three friends can meet Kodi, Boomer the Siberian lynx and Sage the bobcat, in their habitat! Your personal WLC biologist tour guide will also take you on WLC's famous Zoofari Tour, which includes touching a fennec fox, visit a serval wildcat, feeding an adorable porcupine, meet Lola the sloth, hold an owl on a glove and more!

Be part of the WLC team, feel good about helping Kodi, and surprise your friends with a wildlife encounter of a lifetime. If you are a cat lover and in a position to help, please call WLC at 818-362-8711.

Thank you on behalf of all of us at Wildlife Learning Center and mostly on behalf of our beloved Kodi.
